5 Long Island kids hurt when blow-up slide suddenly deflates during end-of-year school field trip

NEW YORK — Five children were hospitalized — one with a broken leg — Tuesday after the massive blow-up slide they were playing on at a Long Island park suddenly deflated during a school field trip, Suffolk County police said. About 14 students from Lafrancis Hardiman Elementary School were on the slide in Wyandanch Park when it suddenly lost all its air and toppled over about 9:45 a.m., cops and school officials said.
