Asian-Israeli flight times to drop as Saudi Arabia opens airspace

Flying between Israel and Asian countries in recent years has meant additional flight times of two hours or more due to a ban on nearly all Israeli flights from using Saudi Arabian airspace. But in a signal of rapprochement towards its strained relationship with Israel, Saudi Arabia has changed rules for air traffic over the kingdom’s land mass of 2.15 million km² east of Israel.
