Austria became the latest European country to log a record count of coronavirus cases on Wednesday, with new data showing that 17,000 cases had been recorded in the last 24 hours. That’s almost twice as many cases as were reported at this time a week ago. That said, the situation in the country’s clinics remains stable: The number of patients in both regular care and intensive care stations even sank slightly. Most cases are being reported in the states of Salzburg, Tyrol and Vienna. The previous daily case count record was set on November 19, when 15,800 cases were counted.
