Conservative bloc upbeat after talks with Greens on German coalition

Armin Laschet, the head of Germany’s conservative alliance, was upbeat following talks with the Greens in Berlin on Tuesday to sound out the chances for forming a coalition for the next four years. While avoiding details in line with the agreed information blackout being observed by the four largest parties following the September 26 elections, Laschet said the atmosphere was good.
