Denmark’s Queen Margrethe II and her son Crown Prince Frederik began a four-day state visit to Germany on Wednesday with a hospital tour and a state banquet. They were first greeted with military honours by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at his Bellevue Palace residence in Berlin. After the playing of the national anthems, both heads of state walked down the line of honour of the German Armed Forces in bright autumn weather. Steinmeier and Margrethe then retired for a talk.
