A drought in Italy has caused a spat over whether water should be diverted from Lake Garda to the Po River, where water levels have dropped dramatically. The proposal was made after river levels dropped to historic lows on Monday. The Association of Lake Garda Municipalities opposes the idea, saying this would be damaging and that too little water is available. Lake Garda itself is at 60% of its usual level.
