Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has strongly condemned the riots in the country over the past few days. This was “a pure explosion of violence under the guise of demonstrating,” Rutte told reporters in The Hague on Monday. Peaceful protests against the country’s Covid-19 restrictions were often the initial trigger. The police and the judiciary are now doing everything to bring the culprits to justice, the caretaker prime minister said.
