The European Commission proposed a series of ways to ease customs paperwork and the movement of agri-food goods and medicines from Britain to Northern Ireland in an attempt to resolve a row with London over regulations that have led to trading difficulties. European Commission vice-president and Brexit envoy Maros Sefcovic proposed an 80 per cent reduction in checks for retailagri-food products arriving in the region.
