Former German chancellor seeks talks on revoked privileges

The chairman of Germany’s parliamentary budget committee, Helge Braun, has rejected a request from former German chancellor Gerhard Schröder to discuss the decision to revoke his right to a parliamentary office. “I find the whole process undignified,” Braun wrote in a statement issued on Thursday. Schröder has faced increasing criticism for his ties to Moscow, especially since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
