The row between France and Australia over a scrapped multibillion-dollar submarine contract continued Wednesday, with the French ambassador to Canberra speaking of “an unprecedented new low” in bilateral relations. In remarks at the National Press Club of Australia, Ambassador Jean-Pierre Thebault slammed the Australian government’s handling of the submarine deal.
