German Chancellor Olaf Scholz thanked France for its friendship during a speech at a ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty, which signified Franco-German reconciliation. “Thank you, Mr President – thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Scholz said to French President Emmanuel Macron during a trip to Paris.
