German minister says ‘right measures’ in place to combat Omicron wave

Germany’s Health Minister Karl Lauterbach said on Friday that the “right package of measures are in place” to lessen the Omicron wave of the coronavirus pandemic, even as daily new infections rocketed to levels above 90,000 per day. There was no need for further contact restrictions at this stage, he said.
