German postal strike: Backlogged post to be delivered by Tuesday

After a three-day strike, the German postal service Deutsche Post is working to deliver its backlogged post by Tuesday evening at the latest, a spokesperson for the service said in the western city of Bonn on Monday morning. The backlog consists of 3 million letters and 1 million parcels. “Since such industrial action has already taken place from time to time in previous years, there are well-rehearsed processes in place to clear any backlogs that have accumulated as a result as quickly as possible,” said the spokesperson.
