The three parties set to form Germany’s new government are determined to make big changes, Olaf Scholz said, as the prospective future chancellor set out the coalition’s major policy points. “We are united by the will to make this country better,” Scholz said of his Social Democrats (SPD) and their Green and Free Democrat partners. He vowed to bring about “politics with high impact,” hailing plans to increase the minimum wage and more ambitious climate goals, among other things.
