Germany’s Scholz urges industry backing for climate neutrality goal

Germany formally began a cross-sector debate on Tuesday on how to transform the economy to meet its goal of becoming climate neutral by 2045, with a call for solidarity from Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Scholz and several Cabinet ministers attended the inaugural meeting of the Alliance for Transformation, along with major business associations, trade unions and environmental groups at the chancellery in Berlin.
