Hertha release managing director Schmidt

Hertha Berlin have agreed to release managing director Carsten Schmidt out of his contract after less than a year for personal reasons. The Bundesliga club said in a statement on Tuesday that the club’s financial chief Ingo Schiller would take over Schmidt’s duties. Schmidt cited an illness of a family member as the reason why he is leaving the 14th-placed club.
