Hungary holds out as EU energy ministers agree emergency gas plan

EU member states officially signed off an emergency gas conservation plan on Tuesday, prompted by fears of a cut-off of Russian gas supplies, with Hungary the only opponent. The plan secures energy supplies for the winter and protects the European Union from Russia “using gas as a political weapon,” Czech Industry Jozef Síkela said in a press conference.
