Marks and Spencer reports sales up 18.5 per cent in third quarter

Marks and Spencer Group Plc reported on Thursday that third quarter group sales hit 3.27 billion pounds (4.47 billion dollars), an increase of 18.5 per cent in constant currency. Total sales in Britain were 3 billion pounds, up 18.6 per cent. Steve Rowe, chief executive said: “Trading over the Christmas period has been strong. Clothing and Home has delivered growth for the second successive quarter, supported by robust online and full price sales growth. Food has maintained its momentum, outperforming the market over both 12 and 24 months.”
