Gov. Phil Murphy has called the elementary school shooting in Uvalde a “break-the-glass” moment for gun reform. Let’s hope it is. The big fight is at the federal level, but wecan and should tighten laws at the state level as well. Even in New Jersey, with its strong protections, lives could be saved by filling in some important gaps.
