Pope Francis celebrated Mass before tens of thousands of believers in a football stadium in Edmonton on Tuesday, as part of a trip through Canada to repair relations with the country’s Indigenous people following revelations of abuse. Some 50,000 came to the Mass, although many seats remained empty in the Commonwealth Stadium with a capacity for 65,000.
