Israel’s eight-party coalition is planning to dissolve parliament and call an early election, Israeli media reported on Monday on the basis of a government statement. The coalition is to put forward the relevant draft legislation next week, according to the reports. The election could be held at the end of October. Following the dissolution of the Knesset, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid is to take over as deputy prime minister until a new government is sworn in.
