Volkswagen’s boxy Multivan has been gradually morphing into a lifestyle car for families but the switch to the new MQB platform marks the biggest change for decades. The new-generation Multivan T7 – the name Caravelle used in some markets has been ditched – is set to go on sale from next month priced from 44,839 euros in Germany and other European markets. The Multivan has shrugged off its commercial vehicle heritage with the new underpinnings which it shares with VW Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq and Seat Tarraco. It is now a stand-alone model while the pure van version continues as the Transporter T6….
