A Ryanair plane travelling from Poland to Athens landed safely in the Greek capital after the pilot reported a bomb threat during the flight, an airport spokesperson told dpa on Sunday. “All people are well and safe,” said Elena Dimopoulou, the airport spokesperson. The plane had departed from the Polish city of Katowice with about 190 people on board, she said. Special police units checked the plane and the luggage. The Greek state radio ERT reported that after the pilot called in the threat, fighter bombers were deployed and accompanied the aircraft until it landed safely.
