Serbia start ATP Cup with win, Tsitsipas sits out for Greece

The absence of world number one Novak Djokovic did not prevent 2020 winners Serbia beginning the ATP Cup with a 2-1 victory over Norway on Saturday with Nikola Cacic and Filip Krajinovic winning the decisive doubles 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 against Casper Ruud and Viktor Durasovic. Djokovic is not taking part in the team event in Sydney which acts as a tune-up for the Australian Open later this month. It is not yet clear if he will defend his title in Melbourne with only players vaccinated against the coronavirus allowed to compete. Djokovic has left his vaccination status open.
