South Africa lifts entry restrictions and mask mandate

The South African government has announced the end of entry restrictions imposed to contain the spread of the coronavirus. You also won’t be required to wear a face mask any more when visiting the country. Attendance caps for public events are also being lifted, effective immediately, Health Minister Joe Phaahla announced on Thursday, citing a constant decline in new infections as well as a low rate of hospitalizations and Covid-related deaths to explain the decision.
