South Korean exports rise to record high despite pandemic challenges

South Korean exports rose to a record high in value terms in 2021, despite the coronavirus pandemic and global supply shortages. Exports from Asia’s fourth-largest economy climbed 25.8 per cent year-on-year to 644.54 billion dollars. At the same time, exports increased again after declines in the two previous years, according to figures released by the Trade Ministry on Saturday. The previous record was in 2018, when South Korea exported 604.9 billion dollars.
