Spain and France sign friendship treaty during bilateral summit

French President Emmanuel Macron and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on Thursday signed a friendship treaty in Barcelona to cement relations between the neighbouring countries. “We want to strengthen cooperation between our countries,” said Macron, who travelled to Barcelona despite widespread strikes against pension reforms at home.
