URGENT: China’s Xi vows to boost dialogue with Japan’s new PM Kishida

Chinese President Xi Jinping told Japan’s new Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Friday that he will try to boost dialogue and cooperation with the neighboring country, during their first teleconference, state-run media reported. Xi was also quoted by the media as telling Kishida that China will welcome Japan’s participation in the Beijing Winter Olympics, scheduled to be held in February next year. Japan hosted this summer’s Tokyo Olympics.
