Vienna State Opera cancels performances due to several Omicron cases

The Vienna State Opera has cancelled all performances up to and including on Wednesday due to several cases of the Omicron strain of the coronavirus among the group. The first performance to be affected was the operetta “Die Fledermaus,” by Johann Strauss II, planned for New Year’s Day, the group announced on Saturday. The State Opera has not had to close in the past due to Covid-19 cases.
