For years, Facebook has been in trouble for a feature designed to help us tag the faces of our friends in photos we post. Now, in an out-of-character move for a company known for its eagerness to harvest user data, Facebook has announced that it’s abolishing the controversial facial recognition function that automatically tagged people in photos.
