Yad Vashem director urges watchfulness against anti-Semitism

The head of Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre in Jerusalem, called for the memory of Nazi crimes to be kept alive while on a visit to Germany. “There is no doubt that anti-Semitism is on the rise again,” Dani Dayan told dpa in Berlin. “My lesson from the Shoah [Holocaust] is that anti-Semitism has to be halted at the first sign,” he added. Dayan, who is on his first visit to Germany, is on Tuesday to open an exhibition of 16 items from Yad Vashem to be displayed in the German parliament buildings in Berlin.
