World number two Alexander Zverev has not given up hope of playing at the US Open in the wake of his ankle injury at the French Open which required surgery. The New York grand slam starts on August 29 and Zverev told Sunday paper Bild am Sonntag he was aiming to start there but not at all costs. “I won’t be someone who plays after being ready for it for one second.
